Just for sharing, I was used schooled in the-public-school from primary until high school. While in primary school, I was a favorite student of my teacher, named Bapak Husin. Bapak Husin and his wife were Muslim, but his wife was not wear jilbab. Of all my teachers, there is only one teacher wore headscarf who was a Islam study teacher, just call her is Ibu A. Because school has no teacher for other religion or no study for other religion at that time, non-Muslim students jointed in Islam study class. I don’t remember that’s fixed timeline, how come we, non muslim students took in the Islam class finally, but what I always remember that Ibu A never asked the children to wear headscarves and all my Muslim friends also did not wear headscarves even were studying in Islam class. The point is my experience of Islam studying in primary school did not leave a bad memory about Islam in my mind.

If I say like that, maybe there are those who is directly annoying and judging the level of faith in Ibu A is less or of her religious knowledge is still frivolous. Noprob for those who are peeved to my writing, but please underline the perception of Islam in my eyes is ‘calm’ religion and don’t desecrate it!

Based on a good memory that staying in my mind about Ibu A and related to Ibu A’s hijab, I believed she wore jilbab because was called. In the past, the people embraced a religion more sacred because the world was not as complex as it is now and certainly not big intervention from politic party. At that time, rather was not ‘scary’ the politic party politicize the religion, not like today religion was sold very cheaply; I strongly believed people embraced religion more sublime and they connected it with conscience movements without losing a sanity. So, my opinion for Ibu A wearing jilbab as of calling by her heart is very accountable!

If someone does something for calling that why I’m sure Ibu A had perceived the jilbab is a honor and I think it was so relevant she did not ask even forced her students who did not understand the meaning of the call to wear jilbab. I’ll not talk for I don’t have the capacity in there for both akidah related and or jibab yes is mandatory or not, I review from the general view and not wont bring it to psychological spirituality theory; so, Ibu A really understood the runny children not yet comprehend to maintain attitude as consequence wearing jilbab I think.

Where is the call of Ibu Ani when wearing a headscarf is ‘a movement’? I also believed the purpose of Ibu A wore a headscarf not to show or separate “I was Muslim and you was non-Muslim”, so that Muslims were my family and others were not.

The next nine years, in high school, I finally met two Arabian-Indonesian friends got wearing headscarves. Only they were both wore jilbab and one of both is my best friend. I and She were close for suitability factor maybe, there is also a factor we always together in one table for 3 years. She often complained to me about her jilbab that she got forced from her family.

When my generation, we were used so innocent schooled, played and visited each other in feast day and never think we were different event a bit. I have a lot of good friends who were Muslim during in high school. I remember a friend, was Revaldo who very kind to me. I often got free treat for meal. He was rich and we quite often did group study in his house, I never got the cynical impression from his parent when they accepted me as non-Muslim and Chinese.

In the past, the perception of Islam was more positive in non-Muslims’s eyes and at that time the Islam population reached the peak. When the aggressive faces are performing that it means to save the Islam population, the reciprocal things happened exactly, increasingly phobia Islam in everywhere. It has weakened the image of Muslims in the future.

In the past, our minds were not easily connoted to dirty things, not like now, when we saw veiled people then remember a corrupter, Mrs. Atut or met the veiled women become allergic then remember the mouths like devil.

Why do now people claim have religion but their deeds is very savage? Where is a courtesy? If the humans can maintain clarity in their heart, they should find a defect easily in the process even if only a fine sand.

From the mountain to see the face of Indonesia today is very sad, since childhood, innocence of our children have been uprooted by force just for a difference; wearing jilbab is fellow of Muslim is family others is instead. If when childhood we’ve planted ‘I was Islam you was kafir, so where will we bring Indonesia?
