I agree the emphasis is not at “radicalism”, because any radicalism is positive. In term radicalism is attempts of religion purifying by some groups because they believed their religion had deviated far from origin in which connected to the messy world. The religion and world must be washed. Thats the view of extreme radicalism.
Actually nothing special religion purifying. Extreme radical group using washing or cleansing terminology and soft radicalism using improvement. Its easy to identify extremist radicalism, thinks the goal of our mother is washing dirty frying pan or washing muddy clothes. Extreme radicalism is destructive and corrosive; the point of deep washing. So don’t be wonder their understanding must be done by a doctrine. A doctrine to extreme ideology is only able pan out by duping and violence.
The people who believed this world has been so dirty always had believed had a self-spillover. They felt more religious, more scared or more good to apply their religion’s teaching than others. The religious self-superior feeling in religion psychology is a very basic strongest capital in religion purifying vision. They didn’t care about capacity and appropriateness.

Non-Moslem radical and Moslem had totally different spirit struggling. Radicalism in Non-Muslim more focus to faith growing (more internally things of each religion). I believe this radicalism only happened in astray groups. These groups focus to vertical relationship development human to his god with very fanatic approach definitely. In big picture these groups did not connect their religious understanding to government or politic: at least this is my globally analysis per this article made and it could be wrong.
Islam radicalism in term of radicalism of we are heading now firstly for horror impact happening; from geographic scale, duration, and the power of mentally and psychologically destruction, also as material and non-material are very bombastic. Islam radicalism using any ways to force their eagerness to others to follow their understanding. Frankly I have been waiting a positive of religion purifying of them since long. Only destruction and crime by crime have been produced by them. The goal of religion purifying is not only biased but it can be seizing mask. So many stickers have been stamping at these groups likes terrorist, seizing actors, killer, troublemaker, slanderer, serious human rights violators, the wicked criminal and lately identified horny dajjal. Satan of all satan is also! So where is the sense of religion purifying if stigma had landed on your head?
May be any positive radical in Islam that established in a mazhab that unknown public because our energy had been taken brutality of extremist radical group. I think it is possible can be happened as why the wold is not perfect.
Radicalism that using violence from soft to brutal and that using politic and power as hidden agenda are very danger to sustainable togetherness shared live development in the the only one planet we have. They are not doing religion purifying otherwise destroying their own religion!
Beside in the name of jihad struggle, if they only want to create chaos, it should be cool if use “Cold-blooded Destroyer” with not sacrifice Islam.
